Quarterly ICT exports exceeded 40 billion dollars for the first time, thanks to sharp increase in semiconductors, mobile phones, and TVs

The information and communication technology (ICT) exports for the first quarter exceeded 40 billion dollars for the first time.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy revealed on the 10th that the ICT exports for the first quarter achieved an all-time high record with 41.2 billion dollars trade balance 20.5 dollars profits in trade balance.

Exports to major countries including China and USA increased and the exports of mobile phones, semiconductors and digital TVs greatly increased.

By region, exports to China increased by 9.9% to 7.39 billion dollars, ASEAN to 2.08 billion dollars (11.0%), USA to 1.47 billion dollars (15.1%), and Latin America to 840 million dollars (10.25).

By product, the exports of semiconductors increased to 5.24 billion dollars (14%), mobile phones to 2.4 billion dollars (30.3%), and digital TV to 630 million dollars (23.8%).

By month, the exports increased every month by 1.6% in January, 8.6% in February, and 8.9% in March.

ICT balance in March recorded 7.55 billion dollars in profit. The trade balance excluding ICT is 3.36 billion dollars in loss considering that the total trade balance of domestic industries is 4.19 billion dollars in profit.

ICT imports in March recorded 7.43 billion dollars, a 10.4% increase over the same month last year. By product, the imports of semiconductors increased to 3.05 billion dollars (3.2%), display panels to 4.9 billion dollars (10.3%), and digital TVs to 30 million dollars (30.6%). On the other hand, connection parts such as PCBs decreased to 410 million dollars (-6.1%), and peripherals to 330 million dollars (-2.7%).

By region, imports from advanced countries decreased. Imports from Japan decreased to 920 million dollars (-9.6%), USA to 660 million dollars (-1.2%), and EU to 490 million dollars (-13.2%). However, Imports from emerging markets increased. Imports from China increased to 2.68 billion dollars (16.1%), ASEAN to 1.29 billion dollars (22.8%) and the Middle East to 40 million dollars (9.9/%).

ICT 수출, 분기 첫 400억달러 돌파... 반도체?휴대폰?TV 크게 늘어

1분기 정보통신기술(ICT) 수출이 사상 처음으로 400억달러를 달성했다.

산업통상자원부는 1분기 ICT 수출이 412억달러, 수지는 205억달러 흑자를 달성하는 등 역대 최대 실적을 기록했다고 10일 밝혔다.

중국, 미국 등 주요 국가로 수출 확대와 휴대폰?반도체?디지털TV 등의 수출이 크게 증가했기 때문이다.

지역별로는 중국이 73억9000만달러로 9.9% 증가했고, 아세안 20억8000만달러(11.0%), 미국 14억7000만달러(15.1%), 중남미 8억4000만달러(10.2%) 등이 크게 증가했다.

품목별로는 반도체 52억4000만달러(14%), 휴대폰 24억달러(30.3%), 디지털TV 6억3000만달러(23.8%) 등의 수출이 크게 늘었다.

월별로도 지난 1월 1.6%, 2월 8.6%, 3월 8.9%로 매달 수출 증가율이 높아졌다.

3월 ICT 수지는 75억5000만달러 흑자를 기록했다. 국내산업 전체 무역수지 흑자가 41억9000만달러인 점을 감안하면 ICT를 뺀 무역수지는 33억6000만달러 적자다.

3월 ICT 수입은 작년 동월 대비 10.3% 증가한 74억3000만달러를 기록했다. 품목별로는 반도체 30억5000만달러(3.2%), 디스플레이 패널 4억9000만달러(10.3%), 디지털TV 3000만달러(30.6%) 등이 증가했다. 반면에 PCB 등 접속부품 4억1000만달러(-6.1%), 주변기기 3억3000만달러(-2.7%) 등은 감소했다.

지역별 수입은 일본 9억2000만달러(-9.6%), 미국 6억6000만달러(-1.2%), EU 4억9000만달러(-13.2%) 등 선진국은 감소했으나 중국 26억8000만달러(16.1%), 아세안 12억9000만달러(22.8%), 중동 4000만달러(9.9%) 등 신흥국은 증가했다.
